A Torinói Ló

A vision of a world in freefall: constant, roaring wind, a miserable house made of heavy stone, the most barren of landscapes, a coachman, his daughter and a horse. For five days, each day resembles the other, a daily routine as heavy and laborious as it is minimal, only interrupted by a neighbor who has nothing good to report and the passing travelers who ask for water. Bit by bit, the well dries up, the light goes out and the horse is no longer of service. Mysteriously, rigorously and with total concentration, Tarr and Hranitzky invert the story of creation in barely 30 shots (cinematography: Fred Kelemen). (mg)
