zu den Ticketszu dem KalenderThis monumental, nearly four-hour film brings together all the themes that shape Ogawa's work: Resistance to authority, people's relationship to the land they farm, the importance of the oral transmission of local knowledge. Documentary and fiction are combined in this exploration of rural life in the village of Magino and its deep-rooted history and stories; the past and present merge with myths, and time is measured by how long it takes for rice to grow, outside the logic of capitalist exploitation. At the end, a temporary cinema in Kyoto built from wood, straw and earth becomes the screening location for this unique film.
