"Visit your neighbors" is the last line of the musical leitmotif in Med Hondo's medium-length film. The neighbors are the African migrants, who live and work in Paris in untenable conditions. Sidna from Mauritania talks about everyday racism at Renault, a group of men from other African countries show the bleak housing and justify political struggle. Long forgotten and only rediscovered a few years ago in the Arsenal archive, MES VOISINS is a fragment of the feature-length Les Bicots-Nègres, vos voisins (1973) that was made in collaboration with those who have their say in the film.
