The first part of Amos Gitai's documentary trilogy HOUSE (1980-2006) was commissioned by Israeli television but then censored. It screened at the Berlinale's International Forum of New Cinema in 1982. BAIT (House, 1980) reconstructs the conflict between Israel and Palestine by telling the story of a house in West Jerusalem and its inhabitants: The house becomes a metaphor, a microcosm. Working like an archaeologist, the Israeli filmmaker uncovers a complicated labyrinth of different lives beneath the layers of history.  Gitai returned to the same location and depicted the changes for the second (A House in Jerusalem, 1998) and third part (News from Home, 2006), which was also shown at the Berlinale.

On June 15 & 16, the German premiere of Amos Gitai's play "House", which is based on the film trilogy of the same name, will be presented at the Berliner Festspiele.

The performances and the film screenings at Arsenal are part of the interdisciplinary program "Reflexes & Reflections. 7 October, the War in Gaza and the Debate in Germany" taking place at the Berliner Festspiele (13 – 16.6). "Reflexes & Reflections" is sponsored by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and the Federal Agency for Civic Education and was organized in cooperation with the Anne Frank Zentrum and the Young Islam Conference.
