Terminal Island

What would happen if you banished prisoners to a desert island and left them to their own devices? "Would they kill each other? Would they form their own society? Would it be based on equality or authority?" These questions were the starting point for Rothman's story about a prison island where there is a brutal tyranny. The few women on the island are slaves. The newcomer Carmen dares to rebel with them and a few renegade men. After a victory achieved with much bloodshed, something resembling a social utopia of peaceful coexistence emerges. (al)
