Film is a material that is constantly changing. In archives, these changes are documented in condition reports created as the prints are checked. In this series, filmmaker Juan González wants to share his own moments of discovery during his work at Arsenal.

In his book “Expanded Cinema”, Gene Youngblood described the works of Will Hindle as an outstanding example of a “synesthetic cinema” – a cinema that doesn’t tell stories in the conventional sense, but aims to expand perception instead, fostering a “oceanic awareness”, as Youngblood once called it. Before his death in 1987, Hindle shot ten 16mm films that captivate due to their complex, self-developed techniques and trace a journey from the personal to the timeless.  (Juan González)
