zu dem KalenderWomen from the agricultural workers' collective Satna Fai listen to a tape recording from 1970, a speech by the revolutionary Amílcar Cabral. They take a rest while Cabral calls for gender equality. The scene takes place in the Abotcha building, which is located in Malafo, a traditional Balanta village in Guinea-Bissau. Filipa César has been working there with filmmaker Sana Na N'Hada and others since 2011 to reconstruct the audiovisual memory of the country's liberation movement and militant Guinean cinema and to make it accessible to the public; the artist Marinho de Pina has also been involved since 2017. In September 2022, the Mediateca Onshore was inaugurated in Malafo, celebrating half a century of Guinean cinema production. The film documents the construction of the building and the use of the communal media library.
