Yoko Ono and Fluxfilm Anthology

Sun 04.05.
16:00

On 11.4., the solo exhibition YOKO ONO: MUSIC OF THE MIND opens at the Gropius Bau. To coincide with this, we are presenting the 16mm FLUXFILM ANTHOLOGY (1962–70): in the mid 60s, George Maciunas, founder of the Fluxus movement, began putting together this collection of often very short experimental films by Fluxus artists that were shown at events and happenings and form the canon of Fluxus filmmaking to this day. 32 films from this collection – by 19 male artists and just two female ones – are in the Arsenal film archive. Three of them are by Yoko Ono: EYE BLINK (we are showing the Yoko Ono Studio version), FOUR and ONE, all from 1966. The others are by Eric Andersen, George Brecht, John Cale, John Cavanaugh, Anthony Cox, Albert Fine, Dick Higgins, Joe Jones, Peter Kennedy, George Landow, George Macunias, Nam June Paik, Jeff Perkins, James Riddle, Paul Sharits, Shiomi Chieko, Pieter Vanderbeck, Benjamin Vautier, Wolf Vostell and Robert Watts.
