The documentary AU CIMETIÈRE DE LA PELLICULE also deals with cinematic lore and memory: Mamadou Touré's 1953 Mouramani is thought to be the first film ever by a Guinean director. However, there no longer seems to be a print. Has anyone ever seen the film? Equipped with a video camera, a microphone and headphones, the young filmmaker Thierno Souleymane Diallo sets off to find traces in his homeland, interviewing eyewitnesses and plunging increasingly deeply into Guinea's forgotten film history.
