zu den Ticketszu dem KalenderYana and her husband David are part of a religious community belonging to the Jehovah’s Witnesses, where David has the role of a preacher. At the very beginning, an attack is carried out on their prayer house while full of people, which generates feelings of uncertainty in Yara that will soon take on existential dimensions. The first act of violence finds its continuation in the different ways in which power is exerted. According to patriarchal logic, Yana also carries the blame for these male transgressions. Her strangely empty, uninhabited seeming apartment forms a visual correspondence to Yana’s isolation and sense of stasis. Between powerlessness and radical empowerment, she can only be herself in nature - but even there she is not safe. The carefully composed, mostly static shots show Yana’s increasingly alienation from her surroundings with a hypnotic intensity.
