What Has Changed

Shai, a soldier and Ethiopian Jew, has received vacation leave for Passover. The army has given him food conserves so that his family can afford the traditional holiday dishes. When he finds out by chance that his father has hidden a large sum of money at home, an altercation is unavoidable.

With No Land

The documentary WITH NO LAND draws on eye-witness reports and unique archive material in order to reveal the previously unknown background to “Operation Salomon”, which brought 15,000 Jews from Ethiopia to Israel over 30 years ago. It gives an account of the life-threatening efforts undertaken by Jewish-Ethiopian activists in Ethiopia, Israel and North America beforehand and follows the 2021 operation intended to evacuate the remaining Beta Israel. The director will be attending the screening. (fw)
