Caligari film award: prize and screening of the winning film

Since 1986, the Caligari Film Award honors an innovative film from the Berlinale Forum programme. The €4,000 award, sponsored by the municipal cinemas and the streaming service filmfriends, is split between the director and the distributor.

Maximilian Grenz
studied Film studies at the FU Berlin, freelance author at Jugend ohne Film. He has work experience at the Center for Advanced Film Studies Cinepoetics, Woche der Kritik and Komplizen Film. Since 2023 he is working for the Zeughauskino at the Deutsches Historisches Museum.

Christiane Schleindl
director of the Filmhaus Nürnberg, longterm member of the board of the Bundesverband kommunale Filmarbeit.

Andreas Vogel
studied political science and has a degree in education. Since 2009, he has been the sole shareholder of filmwerte GmbH in Potsdam, which, among other things, realizes the streaming services www.filmfriend.de, a film portal for libraries in six European countries, and cinemalovers.
