DOBRO POZHALOVAT, ILI POSTORONNIM VKHOD VOSPRESHCHYON proceeds from the rhetorical figure of the oxymoron already contained in its title as it crafts a witty satire on Soviet society based on the events that unfold one summer at a pioneers’ camp. The hypocritical head of the camp Dynin fires Kostya from because of a disciplinary issue. In order not to disappoint his family, Kostya returns to the camp and hides under the stand from which Dynin gives his speeches. As Family Day draws near, Kostya’s friends prepare a coup in order to give the half-hearted celebration a surprising twist and free Kostya from the “illegal camp”. (nf/gv)
