I was in Kuba …” This is how Varda begins her photographic look at the Cuban revolution in SALUT LES CUBAINS. It focus on Cubans, including director Sara Gómez, with whom the future of Cuban cinema is imagined as female. From travel photos and Cuban music culture, a photo film is creates that recombines the fragments of the documentary. The lectures by Lars Nowak (Erlangen-Nuremberg) and Marta Muñoz-Aunión (Frankfurt a.M.) explore the film from an intertextual and historical perspective respectively.

The cell phone film CEREAL / SOY CLAUDIA, SOY ESTHER Y SOY TERESA. SOY INGRID, SOY FABIOLA Y SOY VALERIA. by Anna Spanlang enters into dialogue with it, who is also an unwavering collector and master of rapid editing. A firework display of travel impressions and pop cultural quotes are blended with footage of queer feminist protests worldwide and a “community in which friendship and female solidarity as well as artistic production are written in capital letters”.
