Ein ganz und gar verwahrlostes Mädchen

Rita Rischak, the utterly lost girl of the title, is not one to mince her words. She tells the camera directly that she is fed up with society and its petty conventions. But the money to live has to come from somewhere: for her and her son Christian, who was hardly top of her priority list when he was born. Her search for work and a man are at war with her quest for freedom. Should she rebel or does she in the end just want to be woken up by a prince, as pop culture would have her believe?

Subjektitüde

The audience of SUBJEKTITÜDE encounters a similar inner bubbling of thoughts off-screen, as a woman and several men exchange glances at a bus stop. Helke Sander's montage of image and sound gives fleeting moments a lasting form of subjectivity. (Bianca Jasmina Rauch)
