zu den Ticketszu dem Kalender(Camera)Work: Gogoberidze’s feature debut is an "un-Soviet" cinematic triptych comprising three explorations of female desire in changing times. It begins in 1921 with the story of Maja, an aristocratic femme fatale who spells ruin for her lover. This is followed by the story of Nana (teased for being a tomboy), who falls in love over the rooftops of Tbilisi in the war year of 1941. The film concludes with the successful architect Rusudan, who supports and covets a painter on a large-scale construction site in 1961, the year of the film's creation. The dynamic and adventurous camerawork orchestrates the female gaze toward the (male-dominated) world. (Gaby Babić)
