Fin août, début septembre

A group of friends in Paris, all close to 30. At the center of the group are writer Adrien (François Cluzet) and his best friend Gabriel (Mathieu Amalric), two men who have to grapple with their relationship as well as with the women in their lives. Adrien is terminally ill and having a relationship with a 16-year-old girl. Gabriel has just split up with his girlfriend Jenny (Jeanne Balibar) and sold their shared flat. Life with his new girlfriend Anne (Virginie Ledoyen), who has masochistic tendencies, is turning out to be difficult. This kaleidoscopic narrative is split into chapters divided by fades to black and revolves around emotional and financial crises and states, love stories past and present, and last, but not least, death.
