Projection Instructions

The work of the projectionist is central for every cinema screening, but usually remains hidden from the eyes of the audience and takes places in the closed-off projection room. PROJECTION INSTRUCTIONS by Morgan Fisher makes the invisible visible. The film consists of a series of instructions to the projection room and becomes a performance between film and projectionist. The film is created live before our eyes in the interaction between projectionist and the projected material.

Wavelength

WAVELENGTH can almost be seen as an Arsenal classic already. Accompanied by a rising sinus sound, a seemingly continuous zoom moves through the room of a New York loft towards a window front. During this time, night and day pass several times, a shelf is put together and a murder carried out. With this “temporal monument”, Snow was trying to make nothing less than the definitive statement about pure filmic space and pure filmic time.

Beforehand, we invite audiences to visit the projection room – please register at aw@arsenal-berlin.de (al)
