zu den Ticketszu dem KalenderDecolonization / Debt / Migration: Frantz Fanon writes of the violent impact of colonialism on the colonized body and mind. In this first film by the giant of African cinema, Sembène, the struggle of colonized bodies to live near their works of art, as argued by Ariella Aïsha Azoulay, plays out as a violent confrontation between the colonizer and the colonized, who seek to take back their identity - this struggle, with tragic consequences, revolves around the desperate desire of a black maid in France to return to Senegal, against the wish of her French mistress, with the mask she gave freely to her master and mistress before the three left Africa for Europe.
