What is striking, however, is that there is no film in his filmography that is explicitly dedicated to the media. The closest would be MODEL from 1980, in which we meet young models presenting themselves at the New York model agency Zoli, while also learning about the strenuous work that goes into fashion photography. Wiseman contrasts the work of the photographers and the models with shots of Manhattan's streets, where the gap between poverty and wealth, between the media's world of images and reality, becomes very clear. With MODEL, Wiseman gets very close to how images are produced. A key work. (hb)
