Wismar in the 19th century: Jonathan Harker sets off on a business trip to Transylvania to the castle of a mysterious count, who is revealed to be a vampire. “Infected” by him, he flees back home, but Nosferatu has already overtaken him and is spreading plague there. Harker’s wife Lucy sacrifices herself to destroy Nosferatu with the first rays of morning sun. But having become a vampire, Jonathan Harker is now intent on spreading plague and disaster in the world himself. On Halloween, we are showing Werner Herzog’s NOSFERATU – PHANTOM DER NACHT with Klaus Kinski, Isabelle Adjani and Bruno Ganz, a reinterpretation of the Dracula story and the silent film classic by F.W. Murnau with a starry cast. (Anke Hahn)
