Many years ago, two sisters fell in love with the same man. One of them got together with him, only for the couple to end up in the gutter, where she still ekes an existence as a prostitute; the other threw herself into the arms of the nearest millionaire out of rage and became the perfect wife. One evening, their paths cross again – and the story repeats itself, albeit with some variations… A brutally perceptive treatise on the question of class antagonism in the form of a melodrama, demonstrating that capital always wins in the end because its most prominent representatives can see the commodity and its exact value in each and every person first and foremost.
