For its 64th edition (April 1–6), Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI, Colombia) places a strong focus on diaspora narratives throughout its programming and official selection. Recognizing the importance of fostering an atemporal dialog between contemporary and non-contemporary works, this program presents two restored films from the archive of the Arsenal that highlight narratives of resistance. These works take an ethnographic approach, offering new ways to frame the histories of historically marginalized communities – a collage of errant and nomadic images that defy oblivion and despair.
The program is made possible with the support of the Goethe-Institut Colombia.
