From screwball comedy to structural film, from a Georgian debut to an in-between realm in southeast Asia: with an eclectic selection of six films, the Magical History Tour offers up a kaleidoscopic series of different artistic interventions, some visible, other invisible, which create seamless transitions between real worlds and unreal universes. The focus here is less on the famous/notorious dream sequence that serves as a classic entry point into fantastical realms and more on other approaches: temporal manipulation, stylized sound, dramatic use of color, narrative sleight of hand or everyday objects that make the otherwise impenetrable wall between film reality and the world of magic porous.
