From Dec. 3 to 5, 2008, Vision Kino, the network for film and media
competence, will hold its second national conference dedicated to the
question of how film and cinema culture can be conveyed and media
competence furthered. Teachers and media pedagogues, students, cinema
operators and film distributors, scholars and politicians will discuss
the future of cultural film education with filmmakers and culture
workers. Successful, practical examples point to innovative paths to be
taken in conveying film in and outside schools. One of the main focuses
of the conference is on the question of how film can contribute to
