Films imparting information about film can be found on many DVDs, as trailers, making-of documentaries, essays and analyses about directors, films, genres, etc. Often they make use of existing works, but sometimes new ones are commissioned. In association with Christiane Habich, who has been the DVD research manager at "Kinowelt Home Entertainment" since 1999, we will screen three bonus material films. Christiane Habich and Reinhard Wulf's film about Carl T. Dreyer's "Gertrud" was produced in 1993 for TV station 3Sat's film show. The works by Winfried Günther (about Raoul Walsh's "Pursued") and Tag Gallagher (about Roberto Rossellini's "Il Messia") are current DVD productions which articulate genuine points-of-view. Following the screenings, Michael Baute and Stefan Pethke will talk with Christiane Habich about films on DVD.
"The Art of Mediation" is a project by Entuziazm e.V., with support from the German Federal Cultural Foundation. (28.11.)
