TOTER MANN (Something To Remind Me, 2001) marked the beginning of a collaboration that has few parallels in current German cinema. Christian Petzold wanted Nina Hoss as the leading female actress although he had never seen a film with her before. A good decision: Since then, the two have shot four films together, and a short while ago, Petzold directed his first theater play. Of course, with Nina Hoss in a major role. She is one of today’s most outstanding actresses, already associated with lasting achievements and awarded numerous prizes. She has maintained her curiosity and joy in experimenting, playing in large-scale productions as well as films of the Berlin School, and additionally delivering brilliant performances on stage. Rainer Rother has dedicated a portrait to her – "Nina Hoss. Ich muss mir jeden Satz glauben". Nina Hoss, Christian Petzold and Rainer Rother will talk about the book, published by Henschel Verlag, cinema and their joint work. (May 9)
