Before the children's program takes the summer break, we will show a colorful assortment of the most various films on the theme of "color in film". A special color explosion can be discovered in Victor Fleming’s American musical THE WIZARD OF OZ (USA 1939, May 2 & 3). In the introduction to the film and the following discussion, the film educator Stefanie Schlüter will address what this is all about. The event is part of the film education program "What is Cinema?". The other children's films this month are characterized by idiosyncratic girls in checkered fantasy worlds and colorful natural spectacles: ALICE IN WONDERLAND (Clyde Geronimi, USA 1951, May 9), PIPPI LANGSTRUMPF (Olle Hellbom, Sweden/Germany 1968/69, May 16 & 17), FLIPPER (James B. Clark, USA 1962, May 23 & 24), MIKROKOSMOS – DAS VOLK DER GRÄSER
(Microcosmos, Claude Nuridsany, Marie Pérennou, F 1995, May 30 & 31)
