On October 17, the Deutsche Kinemathek will participate for the third time in the worldwide Home Movie Day (www.homemovieday.com). Starting at noon, everyone is invited to bring along their family films and other treasures from their cellars and attics. Experts will assess them and give advice on preserving the valuable originals. From 3 – 6 p.m., a selection of the films will be screened. At 7 p.m., the evening program at Arsenal takes up the theme and presents ELLE S'APPELLE SABINE (F 2007) by Sandrine Bonnaire, the French actress’ first work as a director. A touching portrait of her sister Sabine who is autistic. Sandrine accompanies Sabine in her daily life, and both bring back memories with the help of their family films. (Martin Koerber) (Oct. 17)
