On the occasion of the commemoration of the Nazi book burning on May 10, 1933, we will show the video documentation BIBLIOTHEK (1995–2006) by Ingo Kratisch and Konstanze Binder on Micha Ullman's memorial dedicated in 1995. The film documents the appeal of this empty white room with sets of shelves embedded in the ground and only visible through a pane of glass, as well as the constructional changes in the immediate vicinity of the monument, against which the artist and various action groups have protested. "Along with the earth, the silence, peace and respect of death are being taken away." (Micha Ullman) BIBLIOTHEK will be screened in the presence of the directors together with GELÄNDE GEZEICHNET (1992–94) by Ingo Kratisch and Jutta Sartory: the cinematic survey of an area in Neukölln and its history.
