SEAVIEW

In 2008, Nicky Gogan and Paul Rowley presented SEAVIEW at the Forum. Now, arsenal distribution sends them on a tour of Germany with their film. "Arcades are houses or passages having no outside – like the dream" (Walter Benjamin). The vacation camp Mosney was established in an Irish landscape by the sea after the war, allowing families to escape from everyday life. Today, the site is used differently, as a waiting room for refugees. Inside one finds a world of entertainment. In a dreamlike way, the camera pans across a deserted dance hall, an empty swimming pool, paradise worlds for children, and after the sign "Push Bar To Open", it enters into different spaces: Mattresses stacked to the ceiling, blankets and wardrobes turn the dream into a nightmare.
