Vaginal Davis presents: Rising Stars, Falling Stars
How do stars act in a world without sound: To find out, Vaginal Davis invites us each month to a journey back to the era of silent film. We start the new year with Alfred Hitchcock's THE LODGER: A STORY OF THE LONDON FOG (GB 1927 , Jan. 17), in Frieda Grafe's words, "the first real Hitchcock film in which we learn how to be scared in face of the ambiguity of outer signs and the unreliability of our own senses". The story is based on Jack the Ripper: A psychopathic murderer of women strikes terror in London. A woman starts suspecting her new lodger. John and Tim Blue (CHEAP) contribute to the exciting evening event. As usual, Miss Davis invites to a round of drinks in the Rote Foyer afterwards.
