The film institute of the UdK presents excerpts from five new
monographic DVDs with films and videos from the course of study "Art and
Media." In DIE AUSSTELLUNG, Juliane Zelwies shows how art is functionalized and artists reveal their functions. In IM REIS DER ZEICHEN, Meggie Schneider rhymes Chinese folklore with abstract art, and in MIKROKOSMOS, depicts a vacuum-cleaning woman who is told that she lives in the best of all worlds. In THE MAGIC DESK, Lior Shamriz stages complicated mind games that Carola Regnier and Imri Kahn as mother and son play with each other, and in BEFORE THE FLOWERS OF FRIENDSHIP FADED FRIENDSHIP FADED a bombastic farewell. In WE ARE FAMILY, Olga Koch shows that love is labor and simultaneously making a film about this is an art. Simone Häckel, in VERSCHWINDEN, depicts children's hiding places as still lifes, and in the installation SLEEPING wild animals guarding sleeping children.
