film.dialoge: IM WINTER EIN JAHR / A YEAR IN WINTER
In the series "film.dialoge", the Deutsche Kinemathek presents films from the two new spaces of the permanent exhibition – including discussions with the directors. Caroline Link's Film IM WINTER EIN JAHR (A Year in Winter, D/USA 2008) tells the story of an outwardly intact fam-ily whose life is thrown off the track after the suicide of the 19-year-old son. The mother (Corinna Harfouch) commissions the well-known painter Max Hollander (Josef Bierbichler) to portray her deceased son and her daughter (Karoline Herfurth). During the portrait sessions, the painter and daughter cautiously come closer to each other. At the Deutsche Filmpreis 2009, the film was awarded the Silver Lola in the category Best Feature Film, and the composer Niki Reiser also received the Deutsche Filmpreis for his music. (Peter Mänz)
