In the framework of the film series organized by the Deutsche Kinemathek – Museum für Film und Fernsehen on the occasion of the children's exhibition "In the Jungle" (Filmhaus, 4th floor), two animated films will be screened. In KWOM UND DER KÖNIG DER AFFEN (A Monkey's Tale, Jean-François Laguionie, D/F/GB 2001), a peaceful colony of monkeys is divided by a huge flood disaster. The longer the two colonies don't see each other, the greater their prejudices and animosities get. One day, Kwom dares to visit the now "foreign" monkey-land. With its edgy figures and pastel-colored backgrounds, KWOM appears as a counter-model to the colorful Disney movies. Supporting film: PFEILGIFTFROSCH (Poison Arrow Frog, Johan Hagelbäck, Sweden 2006). When a poison arrow frog escapes from his terrarium in a museum of natural history, the museum visitors get into a panic, for the poison arrow frogs are the most poisonous animals in the world. Free admission for jungle explorers. The card can be purchased in the exhibition. (Dec. 26)
