Upon the invitation of the Deutschen Kinemathek and on the occasion of the UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, the Swiss cinematteque Lichtspiel Bern presents a film program with musical surprises from the 1960s. Long before MTV, innumerable music clips were produced in 16mm format for visual jukeboxes and joyfully consumed by pub and bar patrons. For the first time, one was able to not only listen to one's favorite group on the radio or on records, but also see them – in color. The firm Cameca named their device "Scopitone" ("Scope a tone") and produced around 500 film clips. David Landolf (Lichtspiel Bern) presents the most beautiful, bizarre, and astonishing film clips.
