György Kovásznai (1934 – 1983) is an outstanding representative of 20th century Hungarian art. His oeuvre – pictures, graphic drawings, photographs, experimental animated films, as well as his philosophical texts – were presented for the first time a year ago at the Hungarian National Gallery in Budapest and met with a phenomenal success. This singular artist can now be discovered in Berlin thanks to an exhibition at the "Moholy-Nagy Gallery in the .CHB" from September 30 to October 31. To mark the occasion, we will be showing a selection of animated shorts by Kovásznai and his first feature-length animated film for adults HABFÜRDÖ (Bubble Bath). Both evenings will be introduced by the curator of the exhibition and the head of the György Kovásznai Archive in Budapest, Brigitta Iványi-Bitter.
