In February, the DEFA-Stiftung continues its monthly film series at Kino Arsenal with three films by Jörg Foth, who belonged to the last generation of DEFA directors. The director, born in Berlin in 1949, was especially committed to supporting the young talents of the feature film studio. The evening starts with the short film ROCK 'N' ROLL (GDR 1987) about two young Berliners who are passionate dancers, followed by Foth's debut as a director, DAS EISMEER RUFT (GDR 1983, as a guest: Jörg Foth in conversation with Klaus-Dieter Felsmann). The children's film is about helpfulness, friendship and youthful idealism. The episodic cabaret film LETZTES AUS DER DA DA ER (GDR 1990) accompanies the clowns Meh and Weh on their trip to familiar places in the GDR. (Feb. 7)
