The UdK seminar "me and we, us and I" held by Stefanie Gaus and Madeleine Bernstorff examines in/formal, strategic or activist collectives and collaborations, i.e., joint approaches in filmic work (which is rarely done alone). At issue is also film as collective memory. The program "Collective Positions FRG + 2 x GDR" is about the start of the video movement during May '68 in Paris, the Hamburger Filmemacher Cooperative, including the scandalized film addressing film funding, BESONDERS WERTVOLL by Hellmuth Costard – and two films by the East German director Karl Gass and the Studio Heynowksi und Scheumann. The second program is dedicated to issues related to collective, political memory based on (found footage) films by Bruce Conner, Daniel Eisenberg and Abrahm Ravett. (January 13 & 14)
