The Berlin Wall – a location for music videos and setting for musical performances. The West side: a forbidden area bathed in Cold War romanticism, a colorfully painted backdrop, but also the launch pad to fire off pop music hits to "free" the East German population. The East side: whenever the Brandenburg gate comes into view, its role as part of the Anti-Fascist Protection Measure can only be concealed with a great deal of effort. After the fall of the Wall, German and international acts shot videos in the hip post-reunification Berlin. Today, tourist attractions such as the Eastside Gallery and Mauerpark; the new spaces whether literal or social created after the fall of the Wall are now making way for new commercial buildings in the former no-mans land. With films by Speck, Die Tödliche Doris, Rio Reiser, Günther Fischer, U2, Fler and many more. Near to where the short film NATURKATASTROPHENBALLET was shot, Wolfgang Müller (Die Tödliche Doris) will talk about shooting by the Wall.
