In three programs, the Russian Film Week and students at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" at Babelsberg in Potsdam present a selection of short films produced over the last two years at three renowned Moscow film schools: the Russian State Film University (VGIK), the Higher Courses of Scriptwriting and Directing and the Russian international training program "Generation Campus". The short documentary, fiction and animated films provide insight into a impressively broad spectrum of different styles and genres: from surreal worlds reminiscent of Kafka or Bulgakov all the way to precise sketches of everyday circumstances, although the exploration of their own generation, the hopes and fears of young people and young adults in Russia, forms a clear focus. This tour d'horizon of the Moscow film schools is brought to close by the film WINTER, GO AWAY! (2012, 30.11.), a work by ten directing graduates from the Marina Rasbeschkina School for Documentary Film and Theater in Moscow, several of which also graduated from the "Generation Campus" program. Over a period of two years, young directors Elena Choreva, Denis Kleblev, Askold Kurov, Dmitri Kusabov, Nadeshda Leonteva, Anna Moiseenko, Madina Mustafina, Sofia Rodkevich, Anton Seregin, and Alexei Shiriakov followed the demonstrations and protest events against Vladimir Putin's renewed candidacy for the post of president with a camera. A kaleidoscope of people, faces, protests, defeats and triumphs come together to form a chronicle of the opposition. (29. & 30.11.)
