Gentrification, neo-liberal market logic and system change – keywords of the globalized presence, which have rarely been so skillfully confronted in a film with everyday aspects of life as in Malinovski's EKSMISJA (Resettlement, PL/A 2012). The filmmaker Filip Antoni Malinowski accompanies his grandparents, who have to leave their home after 66 years. He succeeds in unearthing their recollections about their lives under socialism, for example the traumatic experiences of forced labor and Nazi persecution in occupied Poland.
