SILBERSTAUB (23.6.) by Oksana Bulgakova & Dietmar Hochmuth documents the adventurous purchase of 154 Soviet films from the Soviet Army's central film store shortly before it withdrew from Germany. Three completely forgotten films were chosen from this "booty" that all tell of roamers between different worlds: a parable, a thriller and a Soviet answer to the Nouvelle Vague with scenes that were shot in documentary-like fashion send their heroes out on a search for identity. Views of a lost world that was called the Soviet Union until 1991, in relationship models, values, ideas of history, stories, memory, present, love, family, the world of work, as society wanted it.
