What does the project title "Living Archive" actually mean? All the participants of the project have looked at this question. They rediscovered the meaning of an archive in both practical and theoretical terms. They examined questions of access, criteria for ordering, copyrights. They also experienced what it means to animate an archive, to acknowledge and use its independence and to inscribe ones own life upon it. It is not by chance that some participants responded to the archive with performative, i.e. living, projects.
Anselm Franke, Angela Melitopoulos, Stephan Geene and Marc Siegel will take apart the terms "Living" and "Archive" so as to bring them back together in a different way. Other participants will also join in the debate that will be moderated by Gertrud Koch moderating. (6.6.)
