To provide access to archives, understandable databases are needed. A film database is first and foremost simply a mass of raw data, which can be ordered in multiple ways. Whether for academic, artistic, everyday or subversive purposes, the question of how a moving medium should be transposed to a database is a particular challenge. In a podium discussion, artists, academics and media activists will present various audiovisual and translation methods. Terms such as subjectivity and abstraction will be discussed, as well as the question of what relates the data to the objects they are based upon. With Vinzenz Hediger, Ulrike Gabriel, Brent Klinkum, Eunice Martins and others. (KW, 12.6.)
