Magical History Tour – Breaks in Film History

Moments of change, upheaval and crisis in film history form the focus of the Magical History Tour in the months of October and November. We are presenting films that can be grouped around social and political ruptures, or that seem to anticipate or directly react to them, as well as works that transform technical shifts into new aesthetic impulses. Regarding film history at transitional moments and the dawn of new epochs facilitates a view of film history less to do with the idea of a continuous development towards some alleged idea of progress than with a shifting web of discontinuities.
