Avi Mograbi's new film ONCE I ENTERED A GARDEN (Israel/France/Switzerland 2012) is a reflection on the effects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the biographies and internal landscapes of individuals, about dreams of return and fantasies of unencumbered co-existence. The central focus is formed by conversations between the Israeli filmmaker and his Palestinian friend and former Arabic teacher. Together with the latter's young daughter, they set out on a journey into their own memories, just as they head out of Tel Aviv by car. This is all woven together with Super-8 letters from Beirut that tell the story of a impossible love. An event in collaboration with the DAAD Artists' Program. (1.10.)
