The Arsenal's archive overflows with fantastic commercial, independent and experimental films from Asia. This program looks at one of the key artistic and countercultural figures in Japan of the 1960s and 70s: Shuji Terayama (1935–1983) wrote dramas, poems and novels, he ran the acclaimed Tenjo Sajiki theater troupe and was also an active photographer and experimental filmmaker. We are showing a selection of his poetic and perverse experimental shorts and a film performance that will leave nobody in the audience cold. (27.6.)
