Guest Screenings from the Berlinale Residency Filmmakers
The Berlinale Residency – an initiative by the Berlin International Film Festival, funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the Foreign Office – invites filmmakers from across the globe to come to Berlin in order to work on new projects for a period of three months. This year's award-winning grant-holders have celebrated success at international festivals: Fernando Eimbcke from Mexico took part in the Berlinale Competition in 2008 with Lake Tahoe (Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize, FIPRESCI Prize) and was involved in the portmanteau film Revolución that showed at Berlinale Special in 2010. New Zealander Daniel Borgman presented his first feature THE WEIGHT OF ELEPHANTS at the Forum and Generation in 2013. Ella Manzheeva from Russia also showed CHAIKI at the Forum in 2015.
