It has now become well known that most films are the result of a creative group process. It was in an attempt to make this fact more visible, as well as artistically and/or politically productive that film collectives, groups and "factories" were formed from the 1920s onwards. After our Magical History Tour in May ran the whole gamut from collective cinema to ensemble film, September's program focuses on the smallest possible community in the cinematic creation process: A team of two that often works closely together over years and decades to create a body of work which bears the mark of both members.
